Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Burn Box ("the Service"), operated by Burn Box LLC ("we," "us," "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Burn Box is a secure, temporary document sharing platform. Users upload files, set viewing rules (time limits, view counts, access windows), and share secure links with recipients. Files are permanently destroyed according to the rules set by the sender. We do not retain copies of destroyed files.

3. Accounts

You must create an account to use Burn Box. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information during registration. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Burn Box to:

• Share illegal content, including child exploitation material, stolen data, or materials that violate any law
• Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Harass, threaten, or intimidate any person
• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent the security features of the Service
• Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Burn Box offers a free tier (Spark) and a paid tier (Flame, $8/month). Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice.

6. Data and Destruction

When a Burn Box is destroyed (manually, by timer expiration, or by view count exhaustion), all associated files are permanently deleted from our servers. This process is irreversible. We retain only metadata (box name, description, document count, timestamps) in your history for your records. We do not create backups of destroyed files. You are solely responsible for maintaining your own copies of any files you upload.

7. Security

We implement reasonable security measures including encryption at rest and in transit, server-side file rendering, and anti-capture technology. However, no system is 100% secure. We do not guarantee that unauthorized parties cannot capture or reproduce content displayed through the Service. The anti-screenshot and anti-capture features are deterrents, not absolute guarantees.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Burn Box LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to unauthorized access to or disclosure of your documents. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all content you upload. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service. This license terminates when your content is destroyed.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms. Upon termination, all active Burn Boxes associated with your account will be destroyed. You may delete your account at any time, which will trigger destruction of all active boxes.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Orange County, Florida.
